How Long Until You See Results from Exercise?

One of the things that peeps want to know when I train them is HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE until I can see some results?

Fair question, right? After all I’m asking you to focus on putting you first, moving your body and eating like a queen and you want to know if this stuff really works!

The answer: YES! But only if you don’t quit and you’re doing the right thing to start with. Mostly though, just don’t quit.

Watch my video to find out how long it takes to see results and why you shouldn’t quit in February!

I’m amazed that it’s February already. For most of you that means if you started something in January, you’re now 4 -5 weeks along and reality is starting to kick in.

The reality that many people don’t like is that you’ve put in a lot of effort and you have to keep going!

Most people get to this point and they quit. (February 17th is apparently the day that most of the January resolution crowd throw in the towel and go back to their old ways so they can repeat it all over again.)

The truth is you’re not really going to see results in your health or your fitness (you might feel slightly different) but you’re not really going to see much until at least 4 to 6 weeks in to a program.

Keep going because you’re so nearly there - maybe just a couple of weeks away from the changes you want to see.

Here’s the timeframe for seeing results:

  • 4 weeks for you to feel different
  • 8 weeks for you to start to see the difference
  • 12 weeks for everyone else to start commenting on how freakin’ amazing you look

My point is, don’t give up because it’s February, don’t give up because Easter’s coming and you’ll start again; JUST KEEP GOING and be consistent and you’re going to get RESULTS.

But wait, how do I know if my plan is a pile of rubbish? (Garbage for my US friends.)

Sometimes we don’t get results because we’re not doing the right thing. Here’s an example, if you want to get abs and you’re doing daily crunches but have no fat loss plan in place, you won’t get results.

If you’re focused on eating well and you’re being consistent, then the problem most likely isn’t your plan. It’s more likely that you’re not consistent enough, or not quite pushing yourself hard enough.

Or maybe it’s in tracking your plan and progress. You can be eating healthy food, but still getting too much of a good thing, so keeping track of your portion control will make sure you’re not stumbling.

Before you throw your plan/personal trainer/fitness video subscription out of the window ask yourself honestly:

  1. Have I been implementing this properly at least 85% of the time?
  2. Am I sure?
  3. How can I check I’m on track?
  4. What am I doing that might be standing in my way?
