Where's Your Fun?

Often people say to me that they don’t workout because they find it boring, they hate the gym, they hate certain types of exercises.  I get it. Running and I are not friends. Rowing and I don’t mix. End of story. To a certain extent you’ve got to enjoy it otherwise you won’t stick with it! (Seems obvs doesn’t it?).

I’m NOT saying that you’ll love every workout you ever do. Sometimes you’ll be sucking it up just to get it done, but, if you’re trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, you're not going to stick with your exercise plan for that long and that means less than stellar results and frustration all round. Neg.

If you’re miserable, what’s the point? Being fitter and healthier is supposed to make us happier, not keep us trapped in a cycle of guilt and confusion over what we should and shouldn’t be doing.

Sometimes, we just need to lighten the beep up and do something that makes us smile!!! Zumba? Hula-hoop class? Rock climbing? Scuba diving?  Daytime dance paaaarty? (Who cares if it’s not the most efficient way to burn calories or the best bang for our buck, or the dance party we’ve crashed is for 7 year olds. No shame in mum-dancing.)

My resolution is to include at least one movement activity a week that I truly LOVE, because it’s fun and not because it gets results.  How about you?

If you’re an exercise hater and you’d like the lowdown and getting into exercise with a positive mindset, then check out my quick video that will solve your exercise woes:

What makes movement fun?

Is it the music? Is it the people? Is it the environment? Is it how you feel?

One thing’s for sure, your version and my version are going to be different. You’ll never find me running, but I’ll hit the dance floor happily. That might be your version of hell, we’re all as unique as snowflakes when it comes to what we like aren’t we?

You need to work out what you respond to when it comes to exercise. What you’re motivated to do, and what you’re NOT motivated to do. That’s a process.

On the flip side, it’s true that you do need to be doing something that’s scientifically going to get you results! Did you know that one person might respond really well to long distance endurance training, while another may struggle to good results? Your genes can determine what type of exercise works for you and what doesn’t (More on that later).

But just because something works doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it at the same time!

That process is exactly why I built Rebelle. It is not about giving you an off-the-shelf plan that works for everyone. It’s about finding what works for you, understanding your body, understanding your unique fat-loss blueprint because we are all different!

I wish I could give everyone one plan and it would work, but we know that doesn’t work. That’s why the internet is full of plans just like this that are discarded and left in the corner. So you need to work out what works for you.

That’s what we do in my program. If you are interested in this, then let me know and drop me a line. Hit the APPLY button or send me an email. I’d love to hear from you. What are you struggling with? Where would you like to be and what are you going to do about it? Most of all, go out there and find something that you actually enjoy doing. It doesn’t matter what it is, just move your body.
