This program certifies you to teach our signature dance fitness and resistance training program, CORIO Moves. CORIO Moves blends bodyweight and light resistance training with dance cardio for a full-body workout that tones and sculpts as well as torching calories.
CORIO Moves is a pre-formatted program that will give you the structure, outline and support to create your own classes easily and quickly. There are no ongoing fees.
There are no prerequisites to taking the CORIO Dance Instructor Training, but you will find it useful if you have previous dance experience or group fitness experience and are able to hear the beats in music. Personality and passion for teaching are the thing!
To be eligible for CORIO Moves Instructor Training you should have ONE of the following:
Personal training certification
Group exercise qualification (e.g. ACE, AFAA, or Exercise To Music Level 2)
2 years+ experience teaching dance, barre or group fitness
Certified CORIO Dance Instructor with 1 year+ teaching experience
A degree in a relevant field (e.g. Exercise Science, Dance)
Taking an online or live instructor training will result in you becoming CORIO-trained in Dance Fitness as long as complete the full training. If you are CORIO-trained you can immediately start to run CORIO Dance classes using the CORIO syllabus, name and method.
Becoming certified requires a video test submission that shows you have reached a higher level of competence. Once certified you can be listed on our website, may be asked to represent CORIO in press, marketing or training events and are eligible for our Master Trainer program.
If you take The Moves, you MUST be certified if you wish to teach classes.
Every CORIO instructor is given a pack of free marketing materials to promote their classes. It’s a requirement that instructors keep to the brand guidelines when promoting CORIO, to keep the integrity of the brand, so we’ve made it easy by putting together a starter-pack for you.
CLASS PLANS AND CHOREOGRAPHY
There are no ongoing fees with CORIO. You can choose to access our monthly playlists, workouts and dance routines by optionally, becoming a member of The CORIO Cast so you can minimize class prep, get new moves and dance routines done for you and make being an instructor easy.
CORIO Cast membership is $20 per month and includes 2 dances, 1 playlist and 1 set of fresh workouts each month.
You can choose your own music for your CORIO classes. However we ask you to stick to the brand, style and BPM guidelines that you’ll learn in your training. CORIO uses upbeat, house, pop and EDM soundtracks with remixes and retro throwbacks galore. If you want to access our done-for-you playlists, you can do so inside of the CORIO Cast.
CORIO uses a unique dance mat, called “The Grid” in both CORIO Dance and CORIO Moves.
You do NOT need to use The Grid to start teaching classes, unless you are teaching CORIO Moves. When you’re ready to introduce the dance mat to classes, you can order mats to either sell or gift to your students, or to furnish your studio.
There is currently no requirement to use CORIO branded equipment with the exception of The Grid.
